IV Certified brazil fair

Today I visited the IV Feira Brasil Certificado, in São Paulo, promoted by the Imaflora (Instituto de Manejo e Certificação Florestal e Agrícola), the Amigos da Terra – Amazônia Brasileira, the IMAZON – (Instituto do Homem e Meio Ambiente da Amazônia), the FSC – Forest Stewardship Council and the the RAS

There were big and small companies, and social enterprises, all certified by bodies related to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

The five steps towards FSC certification, according to his FSC user-friendly guide tu FSC certification for smallholders are:

  1. Contact the certification body
  2. Chose certification body
  3. Certification assessment (a certification audit takes place to assess the operation’s qualifications for certification)
  4. Certification report
  5. Certification decision (if the certification decision is positive, you receive the FSC certificate; if the audit revealed that your operation is not yet full in compliance with FSC requirements, then you will be asked to provide evidence of your implementation of the corrective action requests).

But how a village or community is far from be able to carry out this long, difficult and expensive process alone?
