This paper analyzes the results of an Atlantic Forest enriched with seeds from palm juçara in Quilombo Communities in the Ribeira Valley – SP and the difficulties and bottlenecks involved in implementing sustainable management of this species. The work was constructed from a field survey of palm populations and in workshops and participant observation. The results indicate the need to improve public policy incentives and collective management of the natural resource.
